New England tied their best victory streak from the Brady era as they defeated AFC East rivals the New York Jets by 13 points in the NFL

Rookie TreVeyon Henderson led the way with three touchdowns as the Patriots claimed an eighth consecutive victory for the first time since star signal-caller Tom Brady's last year with the team in 2019

Signal-caller Drake Maye threw for 281 yards and a TD, completing 25 out of 34 attempts

The win extends the Patriots lead at the summit of the AFC East as they advanced to a 9-2 record, with the Jets at the foot after falling to a 2-8 mark

The visitors had scored first at their home field with QB Fields running in a five-yard touchdown to finish the New York's first possession

But the New England fought back in the second period as the rookie rushed for two seven-yard touchdowns before the running back grabbed a reception from Drake Maye at the back of the end zone in the middle of the third period to make it 21-7

"That was a crucial moment for him rising to the challenge, and it's been fantastic for him to keep earning playing time," the quarterback commented on Henderson. "He wants to be outstanding."

Justin Fields found John Metchie toward the end of the third period to narrow the deficit for the visitors but Andy Borregales booted a two kicks in the fourth quarter as the Patriots sealed the triumph
