A Pair of Suspects Charged for Prison Murder of Former Lostprophets Frontman Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of former Lostprophets singer and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are set to face Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, per police authorities.

Watkins, 48 years old, was undergoing a 29-year incarceration at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after pleading guilty to multiple sexual crimes among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a substance-related warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a substantial collection of electronic devices including computers, phones and drives were taken as evidence.
